SHS is seeking a Director of Nursing for a Skilled Healthcare Center sitting on a non profit Continuing Care Retirement Community in greater Seattle. This center has Excellent Department of Health Survey Results. The campus is affiliated with a faith based/non profit organization that is dedicated to the highest quality of care.
The Director of Nursing is responsible for the overall supervision, provision, and quality of nursing care in the Health Center. He/she is responsible for the selection, training, discipline and supervision for all nursing related Health Center personnel. He/she is responsible for the procurement of appropriate supplies and equipment and operating within the departmental budget. He/she must have five (5) or more years applicable experience, including increasing supervisory responsibilities. Minimum of two years nursing administration experience, preferably in a long term care setting.
Establish standards and procedures for the Health Center to ensure safe operations and high quality service, while complying with all federal, state and local codes, laws and regulations. Develop and maintain standards of nursing practice and nursing objectives with the objective of providing the highest quality of life/care for each resident. Maintain and implement the required nursing policy manual and ensure it is kept current with changes in regulations.
Ensure weekly Care Plan meetings are held with Care Plan/Documentation Nurse and Aide staff to discuss changes in care plans, , difficult resident behaviors, problem solve concerns and get input form all care givers regarding residents care. Attend meetings periodically to evaluate the program.Coordinate regularly scheduled care plan meetings with Nurses, Dietician, Activities Director, family and others as needed, to develop and implement resident Health Care Plans, which properly reflects individual problems and how to deal with them. Ensure that all medications, treatments, diets, rehabilitation, activities, self-care training and protective services are provided as stated in the Health Care Plan.
